by Further Doings Studio

Limited to 3 people

This is a fun hands-on workshop for beginners to intermediate.

You will be hand building your very own 12 piece dinner set (4 dinner plates, 4 side plates, 4 bowls, plus a few small dishes)

You will be using a clay slab technique with hump moulds to create consistent size and shape pieces.

You will have the choice of 3 different clay types and a clear or white glaze to create your own custom set.

This will be a 2 part workshop:

The first session (creating the pieces) will take about 4-5 hours with a break for refreshments for in the middle.

I will then dry and fire your pieces and you can return about 3 weeks later to glaze them.

The second session will be about 2 hours where we will glaze your pieces.

than I will glaze fire them which will take another few days.

A great result can be had even if you don’t have experience with clay.

Includes all materials and equipment, clay, glaze and 2 kiln fireings.

Some tasty nibbles and drinks are also provided.

The Artist: Lily is an artist/mother/wife/coffee addict working at further doings studio in Grey Lynn and her home studio at Muriwai Beach on Auckland's wild west coast, working under the name Lil Ceramics (@lil.ceramics)

"I studied visual arts at MIT and more recently I discovered a passion for getting my hands dirty and working with clay.

I like to surround myself with beautiful and inspiring objects, I am inspired by curves, lines, symmetry, hot kilns, smooth clay, messy studios, rolling hills, damp forests, westcoast sunsets, hot coffee and wind-swept beaches.

I love the process of working with the raw materials and the connection from creating something functional to be enjoyed and used everyday." Lily
